Default maserati turbo "upgrade"

hi,
I have a (i think) rather unusual question...at least its most honda etc on the board here. Never the less...ill give it a try since i cannot find any on the internet about this subject (not much intrest i guess).
I'm planning on buying a Maserati Ghibli. 1994-1997. It's a 2.8L V6 biturbo engine with 306 BHP.
My question is...as allot of honda's and toyota's (like my brothers MR2 3SGTE turbo) are capable of more than 300 BHP...i have to be able to squeeze a bit more power out of that maserati engine. (it has the proper handling for massive HP).
Does anybody has ANY experience with any of the bi-turbo engines from maserati ? Does their V6 engine's allow it easily to crank up the boost a bit...to say 350-400bhp, in a way it's not beeing destroyed. They are know for their reliability and strength
I guess you all might think...---- off with that car....its not homemade or jap or anything...but it is the only forum that i know were people actually have experience with turbo abuse....

thanks in advance...

Do a full 3" exhaust, turf all the useless smog ----,buy a boost controller[they're universal] and start looking into a way to add more fuel.Just the basic's like exhaust,KN filter etc will net you a reasonable gain im sure and keep you happy until you can figure out a way to upgrade turbos etc.Do you have a link with soome info on the car like what turbos it has etc?I dont think anybody really knows much about them.

thats the problem...its hard to find any usefull tech information. Mostly because the owners of the cars find them deadly enough as you know what i mean.
Its not as populair as with the maserati enhausiasts that restore the older 222, 224 etc

this is all i could find...i do made a mistake about the BHP..some years do have 306...but that doesn't mind.
Don't think this info will be any help...but at least you know a BIT of it

Generally the same procedures apply to any factory turbo car.Upgrade intake and exhaust then look into intecooler and boost controller.I owuls start with those things first. You have any underhood pictures?7.4-1 compression

that motor has so incredibly low compression so im sure it can handle boost quite well. but like everyone is saying, get the basic boltons, boostcontroller and something to add more fuel and youll be happy. then you can always throw on some bigger turbos and biuld the motor.

Im thinking that 2.8 V6 with 7.4-1 compression has some very small IHI turbos. That may not be a bad thing because depending on flanges you may be able to do some low budget turbo upgrades using auto wrecker parts. That isnt a bad looking car kinda unique and I think with some nice wheels etc it could look pretty good.

oke well, ill keep those things in mind. I just spoken with a ex-ghibli driver.
I think i will be happy with just some minor power increasements. Here some quotes from this guy....NICE

He had written a review about this car, and i spoke him on the phone. here's the full review...

-on/off power delivery & massive torque means weekly near-death experiences on damp or cold roads

-I got rid of it because it tried to kill me. The turbos only really delivered above 2500 - 3000 revs. Below that, the car drove like any sensible 2.8 V6, not that fast, docile, easy. Hit 3000 revs, a few seconds later, and the rear wheels are spinning (at 60mph) and you are suddenly pushing 110 mph in seconds

- like a BMW M3 on cocaine. Faster, more exclusive, and addictive power

there is the full acticle http://www.reviewcentre.com/review29687.html
Picture of the engine bay...http://www.sportgarageruch.ch/Image/...motor.1996.jpg

and for those who doen;t know the car...http://homepages.tesco.net/~enrico/i...gtsports-a.jpg this is it
