Map sensor bypass

To install a map sensor bypass (check valves not missing link) you have to take the map sensor off the manifold and then take the t connector and stick it in the hole that is left in the manifold. Is this right? If so, what do you do with the other end? Do you just let it hang? Does anyone know.

Re:Map sensor bypass

On the newer civics (92+) its kinda goofy how you do it. You can take the map sensor off, and use that port off the T-body (put a little nipple on that hole) and run a peice of vacuum line to the map sensor. Then on that line you can put how ever many check valves you want to. Or if you dont want to use that spot. Just block it off, and find another source of vacuum on your intake and do the same thing. Basically to install check valves, you dont hook them up inline. you have to T into the line, and let the valves Bleed off the T extension.. ---- I had a pic...

Thanks for the help. Is it better to just get a missing link?

Re:Map sensor bypass

what fuel management are you running? might wanna look into the smc controller, it runs 450 injectors and keeps the cel from coming on. they run $120.

Where can I get that? I'm runing s a vortech fmu. Is that good enough.

Re:Map sensor bypass

yea i'd just throw on the three valves if you got that already. I got my smc from diablo autosports.

I see they've gone up in price by $5. still affordable.

Do I have to tune it myself or does it do it autmatically. Thanks for the help.

Would a ECG Electronics O2 simulator work just as well? It's only $48

Re:Map sensor bypass

the SMC controller is designed to work in conjuction with larger injectors. So yes tuning will have to be done.
It will basically keep the voltage under 3.0v to the map ecu signal wire. (keeping the cel off)

Yes, the Missing link will also work, its a peice of cake.

hhaha he bought my missing link
its so easy my brother can install it.

u just take the stock one off, slide yours on top and plug it back on.

that simple literally

Lets see if I have this right?

An FMU, upgraded fuel pump and check valves will get you up and going.

OR

You can use and SMC, DSM 450 Injectors, and the stock fuel pump will still give you enough pressure.

Will the SMC be the better choice? Does it offer better control? If all this is true then I think you would be in money to do the SMC and you have in car adjustability.
