Manual Boost Controller on internal wastegate?
My setup is internally wastegated and i would like to install a mbc. From what i've reseached the vacuum line that goes from the wastegate to the nipple on the compressor housing is what i splice in a tee and run it to the bmc. The other nipple on the mbc i run to my manifold vacuum source? can i splice it into my blow off valve? thanks for the help :6

Re: Manual Boost Controller on internal wastegate?
what are you talking about? it goes like this
nipple on compressor housing |---------------------MBC---------------|Internal WG thats it. no vaccume on manifold, no tapping bov.. nothing else. this is it. dont tighten it to much or else BOOM. open it ALL the way then gradually add boost. dont jump the gun or it will blow |
Re: Manual Boost Controller on internal wastegate?
The mbc i have has two nipples on it; One on the top, and one coming out the side (opposite of the adjusting knob). The way you explained it would leave the top one open. So it would look like this
first nipple ___;____ [_______]----- Second nipple So you are saying that i slice the second nipple into the vacuum that runs between the wastegate and compressor housing. I understand that. About about the first nipple? |
Re: Manual Boost Controller on internal wastegate?
You are an idiot. splice the line from the turbo to the wastegate. Then one end goes into the MBC nipple which reads the boost and the other end connects to the other nipple. The bottom nipple is the one you connect to the line going to the turbo. The side nipple goes to the wastegate.
