Manifold Identification
Hey guys I just remembered that we had an old Honda Intake manifold sitting in our junk pile it was from a friend that moved away. anyways the plan is to get weir racing to make me an intake manifold plate and somehow adapt the honda intake. well first of all I don't know what it was from or the biggest thing where did the injectors use to go (theres no ports for them) the Idea was to take something with a strong aftermarket support ( mainly fuel needs) and adapt it to my impotent support for my nissan GA16DE.I know it can be done. And I know I havn't given enough info to describe it but any Ideas to help this along would be greatly appreciated. What if I just constructed a sheetmetal intake from scratch and utilized honda fueling? let me know guys. Am I getting over my head??

pics of the manifold and maybe more |
Re: Manifold Identification
well i'm sure weir would be able to make you a manifold if you told him what motor you have, or give him a gasket to go off of, and some measure ments.
by the way your girl has some a large rack... bad ass picture, props on that ;D |
Re: Manifold Identification
is that a gs-r mani?
|
Re: Manifold Identification
haha you got a pic of your girl reppin an HMT shirt.. nice ;)
I'd sell the manifold, sell the engine and by an sr20det swap if you could.. seems like a more feasable thing to do than mess with the ga16de :-\ |

Re: Manifold Identification
Why change it? we don't mind
I think I'm gonna get the manifold plate for now and try to piece together something using Honda fueling And no SR motors I want a challenge thats why I'm stickin with the GA |
Re: Manifold Identification

Re: Manifold Identification
Can we get back to the manifold though? Any thought on me building my own?
I was thinking since its an intake I can just use steel exhaust tubing as the runners and then pick a shape for the main part where the TB goes (ahh the plenum thats what its called) square= use plate steel Round= existing gas pressuarized container (Empty of course) I.E. small fire bottle. And hey maybe you guys should up my rating a little for bringing such a great picture? |
Re: Manifold Identification
Maybe I'm not reading your post right, but are you trying to make a honda intake manifold fit on a Nissan?
The picture of the manifold that is shown, appears to look like a dsm intake manifold, the square ports look very similar to a 4g6* design. If you are trying to make that manifold fit another car your wasteing your time, the ports are small and then plenum is shaped goofy. Almost all forigen intake manifolds are made out of aluminum, so I wouldnt suggest using steel piping. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/tech_p...manifold_P.jpg Have Arron make you something like my old ZC intake manifold.. basically just get a extra intake manifold, send it to him.. have him chop it and weld on runners, build a plenum and figure out what kinda throttle body your gonna use. The other stuff like fuel rail mounting/throttle cable and ports are very easy to do yourself. and if your wife wants to be off the front page I can do it if she requests. |
Re: Manifold Identification
no not at all its all in good fun! It started off as wanted to adapt that manifold to the nissan now I'm just thinking about building one myself. Now that you mention it. It could of very well been from my friends eclipse. the charge pipe always attached to his throttlle bodie using studs and nuts. thats why those studs are so long I think.Anyway I got my mind set on building one. I just got to go get some gaskets and give weir a call. I'm here to have fun and make stuff better through my own actions. And I understand that boobies make the world go around. Lifes to serious on its own so I don't add to it. So keep that pic up there as long as you like. I think its good advertisement. For fueling I could probably still use honda elements just for there cost. I'll post pics in a month and let you know how its comin along.
