Default Manifold Idea

I'm currently starting to think of my new manifold desgin that I'm going to build for my ZC and a .60.63 t3. I was going to go fo a short runner but everyone has those. I thought this would be cool, and a big challenge with a full rad and an EF. Do you think this design could work? The demensions and angle aren't correct but just an idea.

i think it wouldn't fit with an a/c on it would need too much space, looks nice though... like an upside down ramhorn

Ah, Real car lack A/C P/S and interior, so I have no problems with that. My only concern would be space for the trubo between the head and rad. It's going to take some creativity, but I only seen it a few times on a honda so that's why I like it.

Also the decision on mounting the compressor side to the driver or Passenger will have to be made. I'm leaning toward driver side because there is more room on the passenger from a 3" DP.

wont you have to make some type of suports for the header. so it wont crack. why not just make a normal header? for the time and money you could end up wasting it might not be worth it in the long run imo

is this going to be your first diy header?

but if it does work out it will look sick with your turbo sitting rite there. also wont that make alot more heat under the hood prolly burn the paint off the hood my stock manifold and turbo would glow red hot after a hard run. if you do do it i would buy a real colector for the turbo flange instead of runing the pips in to the other pipes

I'm not sure of the benifit of a 4-2-1 design but with a collector the way the pipes would have to run would take up a lot of space. Remember I want to keep a dual core full width rad with it.

Yes this will be my first DIY Header, But I have welded/fabrictated trailers for a job, so I'm not afraid. Again, mostly I'm looking to do something different, not easy, as for the hhod and paint, I will probably be wrapping the turbo with the DEI turbo insulation to increase the effiency of it, with my build up this winter I'm scoping for 300-320whp. Also a body job is coming this winter and I was thinking of grafting in some mesh to help heat escape like on the EVO, but more subtle and Non-Rice like, purely for function.

there would be no benefit with the 4-2-1 that he has drawn. you need to have 1-4 and 2-3 paired together to make it effective, even then you would need a split housing to make it the most effective.

it looks like a nice design though, do you need a guinea pig?

If someone local wanted me to fab on for cost I would, but I want to build it on a car as the design could take up alot of space. With the 1-4 and 2-3 merge, I might try to draw up something like that. I will have to play around with it a little.

if you do pair them 1-4 and 2-3 you would need to place them liek this

1---2
4---3
