Re: manifold i made
looks nice. i need ot get off my ass and buy a welder
|
Re: manifold i made
to buy that welder ull need to sell ur ass ;)
|
Re: manifold i made
how much do souls go for these days. nice welds on the manifold.very sexy
|
Re: manifold i made
There must a shitload of room between the engine and the radiator to be able to stick the turbo out that far
|
Re: manifold i made
I like your Idea of using a Tee to the turbo flange. Very smooth transition.
|
Re: manifold i made
nice welds stephen, looks sweet. keep up the good work!
|
Re: manifold i made
thanks.
yeah, we will have to bend the radiator a lot ;) |
Re: manifold i made
yeah it looks real good man https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...st/thumbup.gif
|
Re: manifold i made
looks real nice. although, i would have to agree with jagojon.
i like the mani though. :) |
Re: manifold i made
Nice
Make sure you post the rest of his set up when it's done Got any pics of other mani's you've done? |

Re: manifold i made
yeah, it gets a bit restrictive, but the flange is going to be ported out.
the turbo isnt a beast tho, .48 and .48 |

Re: manifold i made
i got some PMs about how this manifold/turbo wouldnt fit on an accord. here are some pics.
i got this pic, and had no car to make the manifold off of. http://www.5ccreations.com/images/car/100_4503.jpg i ended up with this http://www.5ccreations.com/images/car/100_5373.jpg and a closer shot http://www.5ccreations.com/images/car/100_5374.jpg should clear stock fan. the customer is going to remove his fan and run just one (but i suggested using a slim fan). so, we'll see if everything else fits (that motor mount might need trimmed, im unsure yet). |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
Mani looks good. Let us kno how it works out.
|
Re: manifold i made (updated)
hah, pretty cleaver using the T as the collector and splitting them.. Cool beans!
|
Re: manifold i made (updated)
im guessing the customer is planning on removing his a/c?
|
Re: manifold i made (updated)
thats a nice manfold but that turbo is going to choke the 2.2l
oh ya make me one for my t3 or ill kill ya :-* |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
Abaz: makes me feel all special inside coming from you.
renr: if you want one, ill make you one. infact, if the customer doesnt buy this with in two weeks, its going for sale. he is being shady right now, so if in two weeks its not paid for, its up for sale. yes, the turbo is rather small for a two-two yardy8301: yes, he is planning to remove the AC line atleast. the compressor will most likely come out, but we will see. but for sure is that front AC line. thanks, any questions i'd be happy to answer. i haven't seen anyone do the "T" trick yet, so i guess thats good, i did somthing orginal. Log style is the opposite of orginal now-adays |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
There really isnt much room in those engine bays with AC. The Alternator and huge front mount bracket really get in the way when making manifolds for these. Thats why I think most manifolds are shaped like the one shown above. It basically puts the turbo Straight out.
F22's can take boost like a champ, good luck with your kit and besure to post the pics of the final install. :) Jeff |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
thanks jeff. yeah, i saw pictures of other accords and ludes and notice how most/almost all of them came straight out. i saw a lude in person here where i live with the same style manifold (not a T at the flange tho, just a normal log). where i came up with the T idea was the fact that the turbo had to sit off of the "log" and i used just a piece of pipe. i knew this was a SHITTTTTTTTTTTTY ass design, so i wanted something that would flow better, and went back to the prototype drawing we did. this seemed like the best solution, and came out great.
thanks for the compliments, i appreciate them. |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
Most people eliminate the front engine mount and some even have to grind some material off the block in order to get it to fit. I've always been curious if somebody could design a manifold that would allow the front engine mount to stay and possibly even A/C. The only design I've seen that has accomplished that (and I don't even know if it kept A/C) was the one that positioned the turbo where the battery would have been (relocated). Could be a difference between 4 and 5g accords though too.
Anyways nice manifold. |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
hey guys, need some help:
how much do you think this is worth? the guy who i made it for is being shady so i might end up selling it. whats a ball park i should ask for this? also, as for no mods... if it didnt have the PS right there, it would help too. if i had an accord to start mocking a manifold up, i bet i could get one to fit with out removing that mount/grinding it. |
Re: manifold i made (updated)
^---------- bump for the question
|
Re: manifold i made (updated)
prolly around 150-175, pody iy up in the for sale section n see what happens.
|
Re: manifold i made (updated)
ouch, from the piping, to CNC head flange i had to have one-offed, i have over 175 invested in it. id have to sell it for more than that. hmmm.
