manifold cracking?

building a 4 into 1 tuned style manifold for my turbo set up..using weld els..was wondering how prone are these style or type of material manifolds to cracking? just afraid ill have it on for a week and it will crap the bed, i vee'd out all my weld areas real good ..and got it to burn in really well...how long have everyone else been running these style and any problems? also i couldnt get the turbo to fit the block level so i had to angle it a little bit..as long as the oil can drain from it fast it doesnt really matter if its cocked a bit does it?

What type of welder are you using? MIG or TIG? You shouldent have a cracking problem with good welds. I have run weld el manifolds for years with no problems. You should be able to loosen the center housing on your turbo and level it out, Garretts are held in with a ring of bolts and mitsus are held in with a snap ring on the air side bols on the exhaust side(most of them). You may have to get tough with it to get it to move but it should rotate with a little spray lube.

Re:manifold cracking?

i am using a big 220 mig welder..i would say my welds are good..but by the turbo being cocked i mean more tilting towards the side some..not that it needs clocked..its only a bit to the right and ive seen turbos tilted on other cars so id say itll be alright..it looks like it will drain no prob..also with the slight tilt ill have more room for my 3" downpipe..it wasnt easy getting four runners basically all the same length all into that tiny t3 inlet..but it should flow better than a basic log and looks mean.
