manifold adapter will it hold?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey sup guys this is my first post here

I bought a manifold and it fits great on the block but the turbo comes with a internal wg so it hits the block. I made a adapter , that rotate the turbo 30degree. I wonder if this adapter can hold the heat and weight, what do you guys think bout it?

The pipe is mandrel bend exhaust, 13gauge or .09375 inch thickness
Both 2 flanges is steel plate pure homemade 1/4thick

This has not been installed yet and im goin to make a bracket attached to the block to support the turbo if it cant hold long.

It looks like this: Attachment 21607

many thanks.

flanges are a little thing but if they didnt warp you should be golden. The welds look solid :y

looks fine. I've seen similar tube in use. however the thin flanges are worrisome.

flanges may look bit small but they are made with harder material than the manofold's one

just put two braces on each side to be safe. dont want the turbo to fall off by the welds breaking driving down the road. :S

Keep in mind your oil drain. I can't tell what engine this is for but it looks like its gonna hang pretty low.

I used an adapter like that with an HF mani, except I used a piece of 2.5" sch40 steel elbow with 3/8" flanges. It's worked fine, and even with the low oil drain, it didn't leak any oil. The key is the run the right size restrictor in your feed line.

Yours looks a little thin (14ga elbow?), but the welds look good. Just make sure to use gaskets, since 1/4" can warp enough to create leaks. But hopefully you welded it while bolted down... :P
