When you say gasket for the mani are you talking about the gasket for the head or the gasket to the adapter plate?

Could your homemade adapter plate be warped

is it a thin metal gasket. i had a friend who used a thin metal gasket on his turbo to manifold and it leaked pretty bad there.

I haven't heard of head flanges warping on stock cast manifolds, but you could check it with a straight edge to be sure.

You sure there isn't another gasket stuck on there?
