lower boost than wastegate
i want to know if my wg is set at 8psi can i make a bleeder valve so i can only get about 5-6 psi at the manifold plz dont flame to hard

Re: lower boost than wastegate
nope...you can only raise it that way. Best bet is to find another or go external. If you lengthen the arm or shim it, you will lower your boost but increase spool time

Re: lower boost than wastegate
i have a kkk k14 turbo and i only want to run 5-7 psi cuz i am goin to do the missing link and fmu trick i know that is the shitty way of doin it but i want to be turboed very soon i will get a basemap if i can find someone that has an obd0 ecu and a set of 450s or somethin like that i have a vafc but i am runin a dohc zc so i am not shere if i want to do the afc hack or not any suggestion ?

Re: lower boost than wastegate
No, you definately can't go down. You're going to have to find a lighter spring or somehow ghetto rig that one.
|
Re: lower boost than wastegate
if you have the vafc, then you dont need the fmu and missing link.
doesn't matter that it's a dohc zc. what is the stock wastegate set to? |
Re: lower boost than wastegate
i have no clue what the wastegat is set at does anyone want to trade turbos or maby some cash involed let me know
|
Re: lower boost than wastegate
you can try getting another wastegate actuator from another turbo or you can do the carb spring trick.
use a spring in it's place to hold the flapper closed. if it opens to soon, stretch the spring more or add a stronger one. straight hmt. |
Re: lower boost than wastegate
drill a hole in your manifold. Each 1/4" hole is -1 psi.

Re: lower boost than wastegate
i cut an acuator arm and threaded both ends before. used a hollow metal bar and some nuts to adjust the length worked great and cheap.
