low boost BOV q
hey all, im going to be running a small T3, it says .42 on the turbine housing, ive been told it might be from a volvo, in that case its only rated for like 6-7psi.. now will the turbo XS RFL bov sound goofy on low boost? its recommended for 10-25psi....

Re:low boost BOV q
I dunno if this makes any difference, but I think Volvos use Mitsubishi turbo's, a TD04 to be specific. But if your turbo did come from a low-boost factory turbo car, you probably are right on those PSI esitmates. I dunno about the BOV, that's beyond my experience.

Re:low boost BOV q
thats a question i had also before, i wanted to get the loudest bov, which is turbo xs type rfl *so ive heard* anyways, i called the company up since i planned on running under 10psi, but its rated 10psi for the spring. the company told me it will work even under 10psi, just as long as vaccum is hooked up, and it will open. :) happy news for u and me, yay!

Re:low boost BOV q
Hate to brake it to ya buddy......but that t3 will push 15-20psi. Not 6 or 7. I run a t3 .42 .48 and it has no problem reaching that mark.

Re:low boost BOV q
Sorry for the repost but i also have the turbo xs type h blow off valve. And it still sounds good at low boost.....its pretty loud at 8psi.

Re:low boost BOV q
thanks guys, i actually did some research, and the turbo ran 12psi stock... pretty peppy for a stock turbo.. i decided to not be cheap and rebuild the internals, i think im gonna get either some peened LS (and notched) rods or do the B16 rods with Supra piston setup.. not sure yet..
