Basically a compressor map shows how much a turbocharger is going to heat up your charge air when pumping air at a certain CFM and Boost level. Basically if you look at the concentric ovals on the maps; the middle oval is the area of highest efficiency. You want to keeping your turbo operating inside that oval to avoid surging, high intake temps, and overspeeding. Check out this article:

http://www.automotivearticles.com/Turbo_Selection.shtml

It tells you how to use the maps to see if a turbo is right for your engine and boost level

I don't have my datalogging setup yet but i'm doing my calculations around 100F degees. Is that a decent temp to set the intake air at? My charge pipes are never even warm to the touch they are always cold so thats why i picked 100 degrees.

You want to use outside air temperature. Air Density/Temp affects turbo efficency. The turbo has to spin faster to pressurize 100 cubic feet of 100 degree air than 100 cubic feet of 70 degree air. Ambient air temp affects turbo rpms, thus turbo efficiency, as air temps change.

I hope I'm explaining this well. I'm not the greatest technical writer in the world.
