Default Lost Boost After Plugging Exhaust Leak?

So I did some work on my car the last few days... When I was done, I lost spool time and 2-3 lbs of boost. Seems like it takes awhile to get up to 5 PSI, it'll sit there foir a split second and then move on to 8.

For starters, I took off my AEM Cam Gear and put the OEM one back on, reset the timing, etc...

My cone filter, which I had to step on and flatten to get it to fit, started falling apart, so I cut a piece of the mesh/fabric and made a clamp on screen style filter. I have a feeling it restricts air flow some, so I made a similar filter with the just the screen (for the track) and seemed to help a little with the lost boost.

I also found a leak at the top of the downpipe. Adjusted my bolting a little to close it up and it feels like spool time is slower... Which is the exact opposite of what I would have expected! Could my exhaust be plugged up or something?

less exhaust back pressure gives more boost... higher back pressure from your exhaust seems to be the reason for the drop in boost
