Forced Induction Custom FI Setup Questions

Default Looking for advise on this

just got a new lincoln electric 135 pro welder looking to put t3 flange on this mani that looks like this but with out the external wastegate hole

it is the D-series one kinda looks like it
do you think that i could weld a t3 flange onto it and use a t3 turbo i already have the mani but it is for a t25 flange guessing i could any comments

I think with gas you will be fine. I wouldn't try it with flux core wire though.

That's a negative on that, especially with that weak welder. Welding to cast metal is a no no unless you heat it up really hot prior to the actual welding process, even then that is still considered "ghetto" but it might work for your applicance.

im am thinking that if i use gas it would work still does anyone think i should spend the time and money to fab a mani. it is possible and also wondering if i should use flux core that i can use or just get the gas and mig it...

For how much work it takes to weld on cast, why not just make/buy an adaptor plate?

Cast isn't nearly as bad to weld as people think it is. I think that years ago, the casting technology was really poor, therefore the cast itself was crap...and it welded really bad. Today's cast materials actually don't weld that bad.

I weld cast aluminum on a pretty regular basis and have never had to preheat it. Here's a pic of a piece I welded:

Granted, it's not beautiful compared to something that's not cast, but it's held 18psi and 661hp on one car that uses this intake.
