Looking to add horses under the hood

Hi! before everybody gets on my case about my car I know that nobody likes it (epcept maybe me). I've got a 1993 Ford Escort LX and it's pretty much self-explainatory it's has a stock 88hp 1.9 liter SEFI engine. I'm looking for things to add more horses under the hood with out having to pay an arm and a leg. I'm thinking about a turbo but then again they cost an arm and a leg the "good" ones at least, I'd get one of them Turobonators but I've herd nothing but bad things about them. Any help would be appriciated.

You should be able to fine a cheap B6T from a 323 GTX (US) or better yet a BPT from a 323 GTR (everywhere besides the US)

Well a HMT kit is just what you are looking for.Can you get a turbo manifold for your car anywhere?Or will one from a different engine/model fit? What is SEFI?Do you have a return fuel system? It really isnt hard just find a manifold or get one made and from there the standard stuff applys. The main obstacle is the manifold and from then on we or I anyways can give you some advice etc on getting it done.

Modded 1g Turbo eclipse manifolds (flipped upside down), 1g Escort EXP manifolds, Cosworth RS manifolds all work for the 1.9l/2.0l engines.

Screw putting in a B6T or a BPT in there. Too much stuff to swap if you are starting out on a LX...better with a GT

Adjustable-FMU, 1-2 stage colder plugs (most use NGK-TR55's), a good bypass valve (I didn't say Blow-off valve did I?..MAF'd cars)

That will get you started in the turbo direction

I went the Supercharger direction on my 1.9l. I'm the only one to do it on a 1.9l so far. Gotta love the Eaton M62's that mercedes got. hehe

Anyways...suggest you either re-apply to the msg board with a new user name. Thats the only way to get a new activation email (check your junk mail folder)....or email "Slapyo" on FEOA about the problem.
