longer runners vs. spool

I saw a turbo manifold that Jeff made for his "built ZC" in the Turbo Projects section and it had longer runners so as to place the turbo off to the side. I would also like to do this with my car as it would be much better for fitment issues, but wondered about the performance of this style of manifold. Does anyone know if this would cause slower spooling, and if so, would it be a lot or pretty negligible? Also, he mentioned that it was made by Exhaust Specialists. Anyone have a contact number/email for them? Thanks.

Did you read my PM?

Exhaust specialities went out of business along time ago. The runners are not that long, maybe 4-5 in longer than a normal manifold.

If your interested in one, contact cody

pretty much the longer runner thing is bullshit. Theres alot of things to wiegh in like volume of the collector volume of the turbine housing, operating rpm, velocity, lenght of the port etc etc etc. as long as you can get good pressure and exspansion poetntial on the manifold side of the turbo youll be fine. then stuff the biggest exhuast you can fit under the car on there play with the tunning and itll spool up good. just dont build a log.

Jeff, sorry man, but I'm showing no PM's ???. Anyway, thanks for the information, and those are some nice manifolds. A bit too pricey for me though. By the way, how is your's working for you, and how do you have your's supported?
Sean, thanks for the info on the runner lengths. I think this is the route I would like to take for my car, as it would solve a lot of fitment problems.
