Log vs vx mani?

Log vs vx mani?
I'm, planning on putting a 42/48 garret turbo with internal wastegate on a D16Z6. I have a vx manifold just using space in the garage, so I was thinking about using it. I do, however, have access to a TIG welder at school, so I've been thinking about making my own log mani, its just that I haven't tried a TIG welder before, so I'm a little concerned about the result
Whats the difference in performance and innstallation? I've read that with a hf mani, the turbo will hang a little low, so the oil drain will be difficult? How about PS (I have no AC)?
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Log vs vx mani?
id go with the hf mani, i am going with it on my z6, just gasket match and port thr runners, by the way, anyone no where i can pick up some polish for porting and polishing? and i think the hf mani flows better then a log anyways

interesting, i switched from a PORTED hf manifold to a log manifold and made 43whp differance. same exact psi. no other changes.

I can't imagine him being serious. I've seen a log make 270 and a ramhorn then do 300. And I think a log would flow better than an HF, but no proof.
