L@@K<--------Few important questions.

ok, does everybody here run there engine for a few minutes before they turn off the car in order to cool down the turbo and get oil off the empellors? If so, usually how long; i usually run it for about 2 or 3 minutes. is that enough?
Also, anybody got ideas on how to reduce boost lag. Ive got a t88 on my d16z6 and for some reason it wont spool........j/k, i have a t3. I starts to spool around 2500-2800 rpms. Half my exhuast is still stock. When i replace that ---- it should reduce the lag. What else could i do?

I have my timer set at 1 minute. It all depends on how you were driving it before you parked. I usually let the EGT cool down to 600 degrees or so and 1 minute is pretty good.

As for your turbo lag, I would say your stock exhaust has a lot to do with it. Cut the cat off and go with at least 2 1/2 inch pipe. I have 2 1/4 all the way with no cat and it starts to spool at about 2500. Do you have your wastegate shut all the way? I noticed I had mine slightly open so I readjusted it and that helped a lot.

Holy ---- you almost had me with the T88 thing ;D. Anyways yeah if you have no water lines hooked up to your turbo then deffinatly let it idle down for a little bit. If I'm driving normal, I'll idle it for about a minute. If I'm running it hard, usually 3 minutes. If you don't let it just idle and cool down after a drive then what happens is the oil just sits on the turbo bearings and just bakes there. That destroys bearings and the oil. Baked oil on bearings that support over 100,000 rpms is not such a good thing. ;)

What I need to do is get a turbo timer. I dont think the wastegate is fucked up. Its a tial 38mm which from what i have heard is pretty accurate. Usually when i hit full boost the excess exhuast flows out the dump tube and makes it hella ------- louder; whick leads me to believe that everything is working ok and not leaking exhaust.
