Hey guys I work at a mazda dealership and we just had a 2010 cx9 come in witha blown motor. I snaged the turbo off it though. the engine was caught on fire not starved for oil. so the questions I have about this turbo are. 1) how do I check its condition, should I take it to a machine shop? 2.) would it be worth my time to use this turbo and make a DYI setup on a other wise stock engine 97 accord lx. 3) can anoyne give me some specs on the k04 022 turbo?

check it for shaft play,there shouldnt be excessive shaft play,like the wheel hitting the compressor housing,in and out play.also make sure it spins freely

Theres no play or anything like that but is there seals inside the turbo that should be checked etc?

you can pour some oil in and if it doesnt leak all over they should be fine,or go ahead and just replace the oil seals to be safe.there not that much so its cheap insurance

Thanks for the help sense im new to this turbo thing I appreciate it even more.The seals, where can I get those. The dealership doesnt even list a parts number for them...

try callin a local turbo place,they should have them,or check on ebay.probably slim but worth checkin
