kkk turbo

ok hi to all im new, ok heres the deal, i have a kkk t3 t4 hybrid turbo, im putting it on a d16, they also gave me a porsche 911 external wastegate with it, now i have a couple of ?'s, my first one is
1. i bought a ihi manifold, now this thing is short, it has no holes it except where it hooks to the engine, they sent it like that cuase they said every turbo is different so u can weld ur own flang on there, no her comes my ? and im gonna run the manifold to the wastegate then run the wastegate to the turbo, or do i have to have a pieace made for the wastegate and run the turbo from the manifold,
the wastegate is set at 8 psi and thats what i wanna run
2. will this be a good turbo for my car, sense it is a hybrid i will spool up fast and give me some sick power right, thats for any reply

Re:kkk turbo

It sounds like you got hosed on the manifold. I hope they gave you a good deal. :-\

I suggest you do some reading in this forum and take a look at some of the project pics. This is very basic stuff.

The manifold will feed the turbo. You will need to weld a T3 flange on the end of the manifold. You will also need to weld a wastegate flange coming off the manifold seperate from the turbo.

I can't believe I just explained this. :-[ Just take a look at some of the project pics.

Re:kkk turbo

ok man check out this manifold,. its the one i bought and see if u think i chould have a shop weld a wastegate flang on it, it looks the same except it doesnt have a flang mounted on it, it came without a hole except for the engien side 4 holes
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ory=33742&rd=1
and it didnt come with any flang those dicks

Re:kkk turbo

It says it comes with a T3 flange. Yell at those fuckers. >:( They boned you.

It would be easy to weld a wastegate flange on that. No problem.

That dude has some shitty feedback. It looks like he is ripping some people off right now. :-\

Re:kkk turbo

It depends on a lot of things. What motor, what else is done to the motor, intercooled?,.....

Re:kkk turbo

its a d16 sohc vtec, i will have a intercooler, front mount, i wanna get afc hack, 3555 fuel pump, 440 injectors,

Re:kkk turbo

i mean a 255 fuel pump

Re:kkk turbo

Which sohc Vtec? d16z6,d16y8, or JDM d15b? What kind of intercooler? There are a lot of variables that come into play on this and no one can tell you exactly. Most of those engines put out about 130 hp stock, so with an efficient turbo at 8psi you can expect about 40-60 more depending on the other factors. Like I said, it's all a rough estimate, your mileage will vary.

Re:kkk turbo

The SOHC vtec motor dyno at 100-105whp. So 160whp is a GREAT gain, even though it sounds weak.

Re:kkk turbo

i have the d16 y8 and i just decided to go with a different turbo, got any ideas, i wasnt something that will put me around 190 i really dont want to get in to building up the block yet, so now what is a good turbo for a d16y8 that will spool early and go all the way to red line, and what wastegate should i use a external or internal, and if external what kind, tial or delta, thanks guys

Re:kkk turbo

I'd go t3.

Re:kkk turbo

A friend of mine has a d16y8 in a 90 CRX and he's running a TD05h-14b on it at 9-12 psi and he really likes the way it pulls. I rode in it before when it was leaking and only boosting like 7 lbs and that's the reason I'm building my own turbo kit ;D I can only imagine how it feels now.
