KA24 satup. what do you think?

my buddy wants to turbo his 240's KA24. obviously its a 2.4 motor.
we're thinking about throwing an EVO8 big 16g on there. since we found one for 150.
(pretty good deal on one of those imo)

im thinking that the 2.4 is plenty big enough to handle this turbo but i also am wondering
if this turbo has good flow. is it gonna spool super quick or be laggy.
is this engine and turbo combination a good fit.
please your input.

thanks
craig

WAYYYYYYY TO SMALL for that 2.4 guy.....get a t3/t4 atleast....

im just using a stock t25 from the sr20det on my ka-t setup

toyollAZ86 08-21-2009 07:33 PM

hows the t25 working for you. the 16g is much larger than a t25 right.

just go t3/t4

waste to use t25 weak as ----

Honda_civic14 08-22-2009 12:30 PM

the t25 is pretty small, yes. but its a good horse boost. stock is around 155 and its making around 230 after the turbo setup

16G should be a good turbo to start. What's your horsepower goal??

You'll probably have have better luck using a 16g from an earlier EVO III. EVO8 16G I'm not sure if you inspected it before but they are reversed. Meaning if you're to mount it on your KA it would be facing the firewall. I have seen a build by shop using the EVO tubular manifold mated with KA24DE tubular manifold but I believe its more hassle than its worth. GL!

16gs do 20psi stock and are good up to 25 psi. Am I wrong? I had a Super 16g on my Eclipse w/ the portfueler and I could boost at 28psi all day long.

go t3/t4
