Just wondering... FMU ??

they say with the fmu to run no more than 8psi even with a fuel pump right? because the stock injectors wont be able to push that much fuel.....SO i was wondering if you had a 12:1 fmu with fuel pump, cant you just buy better injectors say from Accel or RC that instead of 240cc you get say like a 260cc or maybe just a hair bigger..... would you be straight to run 10 psi every now and then without having to use the afc?? may be a little rich still but can you run a bit more psi???

Re:Just wondering... FMU ??

FMU's working by multiplying fuel psi per boost.

12:1 adds 12psi of fuel PER 1 psi of boost.

add that up with base stock fuel pressure and it gets high pretty quick.

5psi of boost yeilds 98psi of fuel.

that much pressure will starve your car for fuel at higher rpm w/ a stock pump. if u fix that with an aftermarket pump you can lock open your injectors. they were not built for that much pressure.

it's also a sloppy way to tune.. er sorry, u cant tune.. its a sloppy way to compensate for boost.

Re:Just wondering... FMU ??

5 X 12 = 60 however there is going to be original pressure that the 60psi is added to
is that correct?

Re:Just wondering... FMU ??

Yes,
5 x 12= 60psi + 38 base psi= 98psi

Re:Just wondering... FMU ??

say if you just want to raise the boost a bit and have more fuel to do so....would this be a decent/cheap way of doing it besides the obvious AFC hack?
