just installed, some questions
Alright well ive got the bulk of the install done now. Im currently running it with the wastegate open so it doesnt build boost. Right now im having a few issues. I think i have answers already for most of them but im gonna bounce them off you guys just to make sure. Alright my first question/concern is when the turbo makes a bit of a metal clanking noise as i let off the throttle, i can only hear it when im standing over the engine bay, but its definently coming from the turbo. Is this something to do with the blades? Now other issue is my oil return seems to be leaking a little bit, but im pretty sure i can look into tightening the clamps on it, but do you guys think a bit of gasket sealer stuff would hurt anything just to make sure? Another question is im using a Greddy oil block adapter, and it works great except im having an issue running my oil pressure gauge. The port that the fitting fits into comes out right next to the block, theres no real room for the line, and even if there was, the nylon line the gauge came with would be toast. So heres the thing, theres another port on the side of the block adapter BUT it needs a goofy sized fitting that i actualy have one of, but it came with the kit, and its being used to run the oil feed line. its a -6An adapter with a 20mm x 1.5 thread fitting, my issue is i cant find this size fitting anywhere. Alright any thing you guys can offer in the way of assistence would be apreciated thanks. Oh yea its a d16z6 and a 14b turbo with hf manifold

ive got a restrictor on, yea the oil return is facing down, im pretty sure it just needs to be tightend a little bit and maybe trimed down. The turbo had no shaft play at all before it was installed, would that caust the metalic noise i hear?

as for your oil pressure gauge isssue.. I believe the greddy sandwich comes with 3ports (2) 1/8" BSP, and (1) 12MM. the M20X1.5 is the size for the center bore isn't it? And you already used up one of the 1/8" ports for oil feed? correct?
you could probably use a 45 or a 90deg elbow adapter for the 1/8" port, run copper line (shameless plug: I have NIB autometer 1/8" copper line kit FS) till it clears the block then switch to the nylon line, or use a steel braided line. Or you could T off the port for your oil feed. OR you could buy a block fitting from stealth mode performance or tuner toys. I'm not even sure where's the first place to look for a 12mm > NPT port adapter.

I do have a bov installed but sence im not boosting it shouldnt be back pressure causing the problem. When i take the turbo off what should I look at? spin the blades and check there clearence to the housing??
