its off a 05 impreza, so its the 3 bolt kind. just wondering what these things are rated at from stock in terms of psi. and what this thing is capable of when turned up to a higher psi.

note, motor is a d16y8 is anyone has done this setup before, link me to there setup or lemme know how it turned out. thanks

honestly, i have been looking everywhere.. i cant find anything about the stock psi rating. in terms of hp its capable of.. im only aiming for about 200whp right now..and i know its capable of that. found a similar setup on turbo16.com with about 195whp on 10psi. with almost "instant boost"
but in terms of the stock wastegate settings, i cant seem to find them anywhere.

thats a good idea wait til it hits 13psi on an untuned y8. why dont you just test it and see how much boost it makes. and im just curious how cheap is cheap when you say you got it for cheap

i paid 150$ canadian, wich isnt super cheap compared to what some people on here pay for stuff. but i know the car it came off. and its absolutely mint. spins like butter, not a bit of shaft play. i know i have seen people get them cheaper. but i think its still a steal.

from what i know of the wrx is that the factory boost is set at 13.5 psi. im no expert of the wrx or anything but thats what i have heard. now to test the wastegate remove it from the turbo put it in a c-clamp and use vaccum hose to hook it up to a tire pressure gauge and pull on the actuator arm then let goand what ever the gauge reads is how much psi it is rated at also keep in mind these turbos have the adjustable wastegate arm so boost pressure is slightly adjustable
