Jeep V6
1 Attachment(s)
I've got an 07 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. If you look on any board almost all the JK owners are unhappy with their lack of power. My problem is with the 3.8L V6, I don't want to run dual turbos but in order to keep smog legal and all it has 4 cats and multiple O2 sensors. I already got a Superchips which has helped a lot but this is the first thing I've owned in years with less than 5 Liters. Every one else has either done a SC or Hemi conversion. I would like to do a single turbo but it would have to be at least 3-4 feet from the manifold. Any suggestions on a quick spooling turbo I could run "remotely".
Thanks, Mike |
Try holset's they are cheap and spool real nice

Bullseye Power Turbos That said, this is homemadeturbo and I know I am going to get flamed for posting this, but that is life, I'll pick up the pieces and go on if I can, flame suit zipped up... Squires Turbo Systems - Universal You can start at least researching how Squires does their remote mount turbo applications and stuff with the link above. Best of luck! ;D |
The STS style looks like it may be the best bet for my application. I'm sure I can find an old cummins in the boneyard somewhere. Have to see if they run coolant. I was thinking if I could run a completely remote oil system with an electric pump seperate from the engine oil. Thanks for the help

yeah just go with a remote hx 40 and wrap all the piping leading to it. remember turbos like heat

I might try the lizard skin insulation, gotta wait for the funds. I haven't even started getting any parts to see if it will go anyway.

I put this on the JK forum and what a ruckus! I guess devoted Jeep people can't grasp FI.
