jdm b18c itr crx with 5 psi...need help with tuning
Alright...i have a '88 hatch with a '97 jdm b18c itr. It has a t3/t4 turbo with a turbonetics evolution wastegate, msd btm-6 set at 0.7 degrees of retard per pound of boost with external coil and cap pushing 5 psi. I have everthing installed and running ok so far, but i am extremely worried about detonation!!!! does anyone know a good setting for the msd ignition timing or is what im using ok....every once in awhile when i am pulling hard the car with backfire with a little hesitation before kicking in vtec. Other than that it runs good. Any type of input would be greatly appreciated because this setup is to expensive for me to be guessing at.. :-\http://C:\Documents and Settings\mik...2\DSCN0104.JPG

getting hondata s300 with obd1 p72 ecu, and 9.1 pistons so i can push 12 psi if my tax money will ever get here. just wondering if anyone knew a good timing setting until then

---- hondata, use Uberdata or Crome, it's free - all you have to do is chip an ECU.
You'll be lucky if it doesn't blow up prior to getting your money, so I wouldn't rape it too much. Also, don't stop at 12psi, if you're doing internals you might as well use them to their potential and run like 15psi. |

I think nightmonkey is right, with boost at 11:1, you will be lucky to have your engine long enough to change anything. I recommend changing your CR before you do anything else, therefor when testing your new tune, you won't blow your ---- up.
