JB weld strength?
What the strenght of that stuff??
COuld it hold charged pipe or a BOV flange? |
Re:JB weld strength?
Yes, just make sure you use the regular JB weld, and not the "quik" weld. The jb weld quik can only hold up to like 400 degrees.

Re:JB weld strength?

Re:JB weld strength?
I used the JB-stick (its like silly putty) last weekend to put my BOV in the charge pipe. Jolds 8psi fine so far.

Re:JB weld strength?
I read a turbo install FAQ and they used JB weld for the turbo oil fitting on the oil pan. Does that really hold? I always thought people get it welded on. But I guess the oil pan doesn't get any significant amount of pressure or anything. Safe?

Re:JB weld strength?
I wouldnt use JB weld as my ONLY way to keep the oil pan fitting on there. For my setup I used a fitting from tuner toys that is held in place by screws with a small gasket. Then I just smothered the bitch in silicon sealant. If at the time I knew that JB worked so well I probably would have used that instead, but again, I dont think anyone would recommend using as the only way to keep it on there.
