The JB Weld Fails

The JB Weld Fails
Well I turn a corner today and hear a clunk. I'm like wtf was that. Open the hood up the road and I think to my self. That charge pipe looks naked hrmmm.. Then I look down and theres my bov dangling by the vac hose. I'm like oh ----. lol The JBweld held but the flange came off somehow. Cleanly just pulled out. Gonna have it welded professionally tomorrow. ---- I hope my oil pan fitting holds lol.

Re:The JB Weld Fails
don't trust the jb weld for permanency. get your oil pan and bov welded. as for charge pipes...if you don't want to weld them get some silicone couplers.
i tried to jb weld my charge pipes and it didn't work too well. at least i found out before they got mounted on the car. i chipped off all the jb weld and went with couplers.

Re:The JB Weld Fails
yeah, my intercooler endtanks were custom "jbwelded" to come out the sides instead of both coming out the front. I cut the pipes off, used the cover from an electrical box to cover the holes, shaped the pipes, JB'd them to the side of the i/c, cut out the material inside the pipes, and only jb welded it once. It's held 22 psi (an accidental spike) and deals with 10lbs on a daily basis. If you use it like you should (rough up surface, clean / prep with acetone) that ---- holds like you wouldn't beleive.
I can lift the ic up by the new jbwelded inlet and swing it around w/o a problem. I wonder if I have an pics?

Well my drain fitting is brass. And I really dont feel like redoing that. Might give it a few more jbweld treatments. As for charge pipes. Yeah theyre getting real welding. Had the bov done today. Only $10 wish I woulda done all this right to begin with. But oh well. I learned... Sorta.

Alright i'll do my best, here's a shot of the 'before' jb mods:
and the only shot i can find that i took that has the IC in it, it's just sitting there, and hard to see what I did : ( I guess i didn't take anymore before i put it on:
