Its cutting out in higher rpms!!!

While Im driving my turbo b16 it starts to cut out at higher rpms. I put it a 255 walboro, new fuel filter, check valves and still does it. anyone have any ideas of what it could be? In higher rpms I mean it barely lets me go 1/4 throttle after around 5k it might be after vtec kicks in. any help would be great.

Re: Its cutting out in higher rpms!!!

Mine runs awesome if the charge pipe blows off lol it will pull all the way to 8.5k. cause it has no boost. As I gas mine it sputters and doesnt let the rpms go up hardley any but they go and and I try to floor it more then the car bogs and tries to die but if I let off everything is fine.

Why put time/money into a turbo b16 only to slap an FMU on it? >:(

Re: Its cutting out in higher rpms!!!

I talked about it in one of my previous threads. Im only using this fmu until I get things working right then im getting all the stuff to tune via laptop in my car. Im waiting for xeno to get back to me on how much it was gonna cost for what I needed done.

TPS short/broken?
Check the injector duty cycle, noid light.

Re: Its cutting out in higher rpms!!!

How do I check the injector duty cycle? Im not familiar with that. sorry if thats a stupid ?. but yea my TPS is broke but its still plugged in and all. It runs fine with the charge pipe off in no boost. so it only acts up in higher rpms with boost.

Re: Its cutting out in higher rpms!!!

I'd make sure all other problems are fixed first so you know you're not throwing any CEL's. Go out, test, and see if you do though. You could be experiencing an ECU limp mode possibly.

Another check valve may solve the trick. :S

Yeah, I'm waiting to ditch my FMU too. Only problem is finding a manual tranny for the f22b. I know a guy in town who has one, but wants way too much.

I'm sure once you tune it and ----, the bitch will be right.

well my car started ------- up again today....its really starting to piss me off

today im going to check the connections at the pump...and at the main realy.....

iT might be the injectors.....iunno though.....im just pissed cause almost everything is brand new...non remaufactured ----
and i cant enjoy the ------- thing

b18civicEF 10-03-2007 08:29 PM

Re: Its cutting out in higher rpms!!!

Yea I feel you, Ive been buying everything that I need brandnew so I wont have any probs also. I called a guy in arlington who owns and import shop and does alot of work on hondas and acura's, well he said its leaning out in vtec, from what he say's it needs alot more fuel when vtec engages and its not giving the right amount of fuel with only the fmu. So I figured I should just go ahead and order the ---- and do it right so I can drive it already.

I can drive a lil ways too so it wont be no probs with that. if there are let me know how much you would charge me and I will get the money if I have to work 140hours at work again lol.
