Default its about damn time!!

I finally boosted my 87 teg (with 245k miles on her ). It took over a year of setbacks, many failed attempts, learning things the hard way, and going back to the drawing board but I did it (with help ofcourse)

Specs? Well, it’s still a WIP, but as it is now, I have:
HF manifold
Cheap ebay adapter plate
t3 (.42/.48 ) which had to get a whole new center cartridge (ouch)
eBay special FMIC
g1 DSM BOV
FMU (I know , I know, more about this in a sec)
ABS charge piping (I'll also explain this)
sunpro (AutoZone special y0) boost/vac gauge
custom down pipe with flex pipe (it was hella expensive )
The modified internal wastegate arm I “made” to clear the block.
Stealthmode oil line kit (I also had to get an “extender” for the oil sender T, because the d16a1 had clearance issues)
Hella vacuum lines and other ---- the nickel and dimed me to death...some of it was never even used!

Why an FMU? I cant use any of the cool and free rom editors since I'm Vac advance. However, I did try to convert to electronic advance with 88 Integra parts to use a chipped ecu (with turbo edit)....but I kept getting a CEL that made no sense! So I'm using an FMU until I can either figure out how to do the swap, or get to a j-yard, and get a whole wiring harness from an 88 Integra. I don’t like this FMU, but I do like b00st. I guess it will have to do for now, and with boost, I can work out bugs in my system.

Why ABS piping? Well reading a few posts here, I learned that people have used it with success, so I figured why not run it for a short while? This turned out to be a good idea since the 87 tegs engine bay is small, so being able to easily cut and use bends came in handy...because it was not fun running pipes in that engine bay. AND I cant weld, nor do I know anybody who can, so it works out.

I ordered some mild steel piping form some http://store.racing-solutions.org/index.html but its not a 2" diameter as it should be. Its close, but no cigar. When I first saw it, i knew it looked kinda small, then I saw that it can easily fit inside my ABS pipe (my ABS pipe is 2”). so I'm hoping the guy will let me exchange it for the 2.5" size.

I have a MBC I got from eBay also. Yeah, I should have made my own, but for $12, its all good...besides I'm tired of going to Home Depot It does have a tiny hole on one of the nipples though...is that right? I wont install it if its crap, and not until I put in my new clutch (centerforce dual friction)

Right now with the long *** wastegate arm, I’m only at 3-4psi, but since I don’t want to waste too much gas b00sting everywhere or or burn my stock clutch too fast, I guess I’ll have to live with it.

Okay, some dark *** pics. (sorry)

Since I only run a TINY amount of boost, the car drives fine. The fmu does its job well...theres no pinging nor is there any black smoke from the tail pipe while in boost. Sometimes, I do feel a small surge when in low rpm/Vac driving in first gear tho.

As for the oil line, I switched which fitting should go on the T fitting and which one should go on the turbo :1 I'm gonna fix it soon...I just dont want to do it no since I gotta take everything off to do it.I'll hopefully get to it in a few days.

Thanx for the comments guys. This is my very first setup, so if you got an suggestions on anything (esp the fuel management), let me know.

the power is good...much better than N/A and this is only at 3psi

i'm leaking oil tho...I dont know where exactly, but all signs is pointing at my T-fitting ont he block. Its leaking enough to make me worry about it. I guess I gotta crawl back under the car...

Get your ecu chipped and turn the boost up .. 3psi really isn't worth it

that oil line will last, i actually had mine close than that once

awesome setup. And considering you have a 1st gen teg that looks that sweet and has 2 billion miles on the original motor, you sir, deserve a standing ovation
