Internal Wastegated Turbo Question

Ok here is the deal I got my manifold and its VERY nice, but I want to run a external wastegate so I can initially run lower PSI, but the manifold would need to be cut up and a flange added for that. A friend suggested to me to do some research on usign a internally wastegated turbo (a t3/t4) now my question is can I lower the boost on a internally wastegated turbo to something like ~5psi?

Or should I just get this one flanged and run my Tial wastegate plan that i was thinking of using...

Thanks ahead of time.

Re:Internal Wastegated Turbo Question

you can always change the spring on the internal wastegate, like on my 14b i could change the spring to like 5-6psi...do whatever you want pierre

Re:Internal Wastegated Turbo Question

you can lower a internally wastegated turbo by extending the actuator arm, but this increases lag. you want less lag especcially with such a bigger turbo than a say T25. but if you want a quick and accurate spool id get a manifold with a external wastegate flange. (you might even be able to keep your ac)

How would this work? I think you have to have it before turbo don't you.

going to a good shop tommorow and talking to some experts to see what is the best option, not the cheapest. Thanks
