Internal Wastegate Stock Elbow question

I tried searching but I'm guessing this is a newb question. I'm looking at how to make my downpipe... I have a T3 .60/.63 with internal wastegate. Since it's internally wastegated does that mean I have to use the stock elbow with the wastegate flapper in it? All the downpipes I've seen people make have started at the exhaust housing itself and have two pipes. If I used this stock piece I'd have one two inch pipe?

Re:Internal Wastegate Stock Elbow question

I think I'm using the wrong word, I think what I have is the "stock o2 housing". This would make sense because it has an o2 sensor in it. So do I have to use this stock o2 housing if I want to leave it internally wastegated?

Also how hard is it to remove broken off bolts, I tried removing the stock o2 housing and one bolt broke off :(

You don't have to use it. I used a header/collector with an 02 bung welded in it.

Good luck with the broken bolt. Take them all off and see if you can grab it with a pair of channel locks or something. If you have a welder you could try welding a bolt on the broken end of it.

you have to use the stock o2 housing if you want it internally gated since that is where the wastegate is on your turbo...this actually makes it easier to make a new dp...just go get the flange that matches it and start welding

So is the wastegate in the housing? ??? If so then yes you would have to use it unless you bought a new flange or if you used an external wastegate.

Re:Internal Wastegate Stock Elbow question

Yeah it looks like the HMT crew usually cuts it and welds pipe onto the stock o2 housing. I'm going to try and find the flange. The end of the bolt broke off so I cant grab it. Thanks for the help.
