internal wastegate and boost controller

i have a garret t25 with an internal wastegate...what i want to know is if i can use an electronic boost controller with the stock wastegate, or do i need to disable/get rid of the internal gate and get a "real" gate?

i want to controll boost creep as much as possible and i am not sure if an internal gate is the best way to go.

thanks

to control ur boost creep an external is the best route. but u can use the stock gate with the ebc if u wanted to. more effecient with an external.

Just get a manual boost controller, cheap as ---- and install and use is a breeze

i agree, i'd buy one and not make my own. like a turbo xs mbc. i have one at 11psi stock int. w/g set at 6.5psi. no boost creep or boost spikes. you have to give the wategate it's own vacuume source like T it off the pcv valve.

I have a Greddy Profec B spec II I just installed and I tuned out all the boost spike and the boost stays rock solid where ever I chosse to set it. EBC is the way to go.

if yours a baller and have that kind of money to spend on it go for it. But using a MBC is really easy to install (electronic are not) and you can save yourself a grip of cash.

I bought my JoeP MBC brand new off of ebay for $23 shipped

I see JoeP "style" boost controllers. I think most people can put these together for under 20 bucks. :P I'm lazy and will probably buy an ebay one.

i don't mind spending the dough on the ebc...i was planning on getting an apexi avc-r because i like the gear specific boost settings that it has.

For the record, you can be half retarded and install an EBC. All you need is 12+, ground and plug in the solenoid. Other than that, its just vacuum lines.

Oh and good luck tuning out a boost spike with an MBC!

EBCs are nice to have, simple and reliable. I'm looking into the new profec type s. I like the design of it, just like the profec A but better.

Re:internal wastegate and boost controller

if i do choose to use the internal gate at first, will i be limited to the maximum boost that the stock wastegate spring is set at no matter what the ebc is set to? like if the ebc is set to 10psi and the stock gate is at 8psi i will only get the 8psi right?

Re:internal wastegate and boost controller

No you will get whatever you set the EBC/MBC is set at. My staock waste gate acuator only gives me 5.5psi but I run 11psi with the EBC.

i thought to hook up a MBC, you just t off the line between the actuator and compressor housing?

I have a Turbosmart MBC on a stock GT28r gate have some issues with the boost spiking about 2 lbs a little bit of boostcreep. EBC's are the only way to go as far as correcting you wastegates problem with fluctuating boost. I'm getting one this winter for sure.
