Default internal wastegate

What boost pressure will a 85 Saab T3 turbos internal wastegate open at? If I have an internal wastegate do I still need a boost gauge? How is a boost gauge installed?

boost gauge runs off of any vaccum port on intake mani. It's just a vac line that runs to the gauge, unless you get the electronic one. Then it's wires. As far as the stock wastegate on that turbo, i dunno. But, I'll look on the Mitchell and get back to ya on that.

Normally saabs open around 7-8psi,

boost gauges get hooked up to an intake manifold pressure source.

I use a saab t3 that was set at 7 psi, but its also adjustable, so it depends on if the person who had it set it.
