Intercoolers

Just in general, what´s you guys findings?

What has been your experience when it comes to end tank layouts, bar&plate vs tube&fin aso?

Currently looking into this as best as i can and would appreciate any findings.

Amongst others,yeah.
Point is that i´ve seen more than one cooler become a flow hinderance when you start upin the power.
What´s more is that a couple of close personal friends do development work on intercoolers for Volvo Penta(marine use),and their findings..yeah well..i guess a lot of what they indeed DO find applies, but not so when it comes to flow needed for power inxs of 600 asf.
So..go figure.
Bar&plate as far as flow with all due respect, but the point here is that i guess graphic placement comes into play as well.
For instance,up here we seldom get more than 25degC on a hot summer day rendering the need for overefficient coolers less..the flow however is still needed.
..and as most cars will set the frame for what can be done from outright room..

wtf are you talking about?
heres how it works; find a cheap intercooler that holds pressure and use it

Short and thick does the trick

long and thin won't fit in.

for serious power you might well be better off looking into chargecooling. For the short times your boosting on the 1/4 you can use ice in the reservoir for sooooper cooling.

Your also not as restricted by frontal area. And since the core's are more efficient you can run one with less flow restriction for any given cooling effect.

A bit off on a tangent, but nevertheless i think alot of top fuel dragsters use an ice filled reservoir for their 1/4 runs.
