are you sure the air is cooler? You could be getting heat soak off that 200* radiator sandwhiched to it... also you could be getting a boost leak or somthing esp if your bov isnt working, are you sure youre boosting in the first place?

The intercooler isn't going to give you more power, it allows you to jack the boost up safely. On top of that I'm sure you had 1-2 psi of pressure drop from putting it in there. That may be why you don't have more power. You have to jack the boost up.

No, it is going to give you more power:

PV=nrT

Lowering the temperature at the same pressure increases the air density of the intake charge - there are more O2 molecules in the charge. Since there is more available O2, you can combine it with more gasoline and get more powerful combustion.

Summary: cooler charge = more powah (but, there might be something else going on here - like pressure drop in the intercooler, the intercooler being heated up by the rad etc)

Also - is the vacuum line connected to your BOV? I can't see it in your picture.

no, air to air intercoolers don't give you more power, infact, they would actually give you less power because of the restriction they cause. A intercooler gives you the capability to keep your air intake charges from heating up, so all they are doing is preventing the loss of power due to heat soak from the engine bay and the turbo. (compressing air creates heat). So if your car was running fine and no pinging was present before the intercooler, adding a intercooler will not increase the power, unless of course the car was tuned, to take advantage of the cooler air, or the boost was upped to over come the pressure drop.
