my friend just paid 15gs for a 99 tegra type-r with msd wires, str fuel rail, FPR tial WG, Tial BOV, 67 trim turbo...when he runs it he can't go past 4000 rpms...he almost lost to a 93 civic hatch dx...completely stock!...what could be wrong with it?

 

so he bought it knowing he couldnt go over 4k?
he shoulda bough a tdi instead

 

no the guy told him it was tuned with hondata and it dynoed at 250whp...at 7psi...but now he called the guy and the guy said "no i didn't say that...i said it could push 250whp tuning with hondata"...

he also said he has a hondata chip in the stock ecu so the car can't pass 7psi...i dunno

This is why i'd never buy a car that's been modded. You have no idea what has been done to the car or if he's even running Hondata, unless you know what you're looking for.

 

werd...well my firend thought he was gettin a good deal.. to bad i guess...15G's gone...it almost blew to...we found a vaccum leak and fixed it...so he was revin it to see if it would go up more..and it started boggin down and makin all these funny noises

 

he didnt test drive the car before he bought it or what? probably has just a turbo kit and no type of engine management.
