intake manifold questions

3 Attachment(s)
i recently was able to get this piece at a local aftermarket yard sale for $10
Attachment 26676
Attachment 26677
with plans to create a setup with a plenum for forced induction. i was wondering what the differences in flow, power delivery, and response are if the throttle body was placed before the plenum (with a two throttle body placement to equalize flow) such as this: Attachment 26678
compared to a setup with throttle bodies placed after the plenum, such as a forced induction car with ITB's, such as tony the tigers. it seems that at full throttle, the flow would be the same as the throttle plates would hardly hinder any flow, but at partial throttle, how is performance affected by plenum placement?
thanks for assistance

p.s. anyone think this is the bottom portion of a golden eagle intake manifold?

What a bargan. It wouldnt flow as well as throttle plates because you still have a blade in the middle to ---- up the flow. What is that blue car? 13B rota?

Re: intake manifold questions

Plenum after TB = easy, works great.

Plenum before multiple TBs = does nothing to "smooth" flow ??? and creates a tuning nightmare with no gains over a correctly done single plane IM.

I've heard that individual throttle bodies won't make any power over a regular single throttle body manifold, *unless* there is a correctly engineered and built plenum that feeds the ITBs.

Re: intake manifold questions

so are you going to cut out your fire wall to allow the 2 throttle bodies and charge piping to fit?
B18 right
Better to use one large tb on the top or bottom centered.

You aren't making any more power than the turbo is rated for, so any small changes in midrange system efficiency are pissing money and effort away. Want a design that gives gains? It's called a bigger turbo, bitchtits!
