Intake Manifold *Revisted With Ideas and Thoughts"
I'm starting to think of fabbing a new Intake Manifold and wondering what is better.
I know Short Runner is good for top end (right?) and Long Runners are good for bottem end(i think). If I'm going to be usings a .60/.63 on a Cammed and P&P DOHC ZC at about 18psi after my build up, which style am I going to benifit from most? |
Re: Intake Manifold
you are probably going to want a larger plenum for boost. that means shorter runners i'd think.
make sure you post some design ideas before you make it josh! |
Re: Intake Manifold
Oh it will definitely be modeled in Inventoror Solidworks and analyzed first, if I have time!!!
Plus Aaron, I'll probably call on you for a throttle body flange and so forth. |
Re: Intake Manifold

Re: Intake Manifold
i guess idk even know where to start, and what kinda factors to take into consideration....wanna help? :)

Re: Intake Manifold
maybe pick up an IM off a factory turbo'd car (IE: DSM :P) and see how it's designed to give you some ideas....
|
Re: Intake Manifold
the thing that im unsure of most would be how you would get vacuum ports and whatnot mounted...
|
Re: Intake Manifold
Ah you can do anything from welding in little tubes to tapping in some brass fittings.
I'm most likely going to take a honda Factory IM, cut it right behind the injector bungs and mounts, Port that out and tapper it nicely to the head, the make it off of there. I don't have enough experience yet with making things like that and I want everything to still fit together nicely.. |
Re: Intake Manifold
Box pleunm is your friend plus it will be the easiest to cut and set up.
