Installing FMIC on 80 Porsche 931..

I think I'm going to let pics do most of my talking, hope you like pics..

so this is what I'm working with..

As you can see the charge pipe plummets toward the exhaust, these are original with no intercooler..

this is the original style compressor housing (with integrated recirculating blow off valve) in the back vs the Audi compressor housing I'm planning on useing witch is much smaller and will allow me to index the housing in a different direction

These are kkk k26 turbochargers from germany, I have a few of them and am quite good at tearing them down and rebuilding them with whatever different parts I need, I keep the shaft/wheels marked so they dont have to be rebalanced but I plan to have one professionally done once I've got My final configuration down..

Here is the audi housing facing down toward the steering rack, I plan to run the charge pipe with the rack across the front and U around the drivers (USA) side of the radiator into a FMIC..

A view straight up the business end..

I am planning on grinding that protrusion from the cast iron block off and gronding the steering rack bolt hole shorter to fit a shorter bolt in order to gain the clear path that I need..

Here is a little sketch I made..

The "dizzy" is the fuel distributor, it measures airflow like a mass airflow sensor but with a plate on an arm in a tapered cylinder, Its the thing in the engine shot with the hundred lines coming off of it, IMO its a beautiful precision machine but they are very different than most any other fueling system out there be it carb or efi..

But yeah... man those pieces ad up to a lot of money quick and that just to get air to the turbo much less to an IC then back up to the TB..

And thats what I need you guyses help with, figuring out how to connect all this stuff in a suitable manner on the cheaps, I mean cheap cheaps, like I'm going to go to the junkyard with my calipers flathead, and cutters and come back with 20 radiator hoses, maybe an IC (still need one) and who knows what to snake sealed air through this system..

What should I look for? anything in particular? I've never built plumbing from scratch before..

I really should not be taking this project on right now because im f'n broke but I'd have to spend money on parts to put this car back together OEM but those parts are ones that would be chucked for an intercooler install so I can't see putting it back together without one, trust me I've allready done that plenty of times and to pull the turbo on this car is very hard, most recommend pulling the entire engine but I'm a tool junkie (Y I'm broke, sale on stahlwille ordered from germany) so I can get into most of the little nooks and crannies because I'm good and I collect tools which allow me to do so.. In those pics I pulled the compressor housing with the turbo still installed..

BTW, this car runs excellent (the exhaust was still hot while I was pulling the comp housing), I love it to pieces and back regularly.. I've been through some wild jobs on this car..

When I bought the car..

yeah you guys like turbos right?

https://www.homemadeturbo.com/attach...ine=1433219110

here is an audi 6411 CHRA watercooled next to one of my 931 oil cooled bearing housings.. I may try to use that bearing housing but the 931 mounts its turbo to the block and the block mount is an oil line in and of itself.. And the turbo exhaust manifolds are rare and weak (crack cast), so I have to use the mount, and there is zip zero aftermarket for anything especially turbo exhaust manifolds..

Btw, I'm Eddie, 24, northern michigan..

Get this done and I can finally add a boost controller and turn it up!! Dual port 930 wastegate already there..

My goal is about 1 BAR or wherever I run out of fueling, ah but I'll have to buy a wideband and boost gauge and that wont be for a while..

I would almost buy a vems standalone ECU with integrated wideband controller and 2 egt's for about $800 and go 400hp compared to just what a wideband setup costs..

Went to the junkyard for a few hours today... Total cost $20 for everything in the pics..

Some VW door handles (inner and outer) that look very familiar..
Bumper jack..
Water pump rigging out of a school bus for the heater system, pump doesnt run :( .. But with a Ton of T's and fittings and brass valves and hoseclamps etc. That crap adds up quick if your trying to buy it, handy to have around..
Most of the metal pipes in 2" and 2.5" are from rear engined school busses there rad lines, one was even "9-11" but I didnt have a camera..
A lot of those big hoses that look like pairs are ford truck intakes..

This should give me a decent start..
