installing dsm bov
i dont know how to install this bov on!! any help or advice is great.
http://www.dejontool.com/images/BOV's/1gDSM%20BOV.JPG that is my bov, i also got the flange(BMC) for it already. do i have to extend a little pipe off of my intercooler piping and then weld the flange onto that little pipe. or could i just drill a hole in my charge pipe and then weld the flange on there (so it is just going to be the flange FLAT on the charge pipe) and then screw on the bov. i am kind of confused as how to put the bov on the pipe. anyone with picture of how they did their dsm bov or advice is appreciated. |
Re: installing dsm bov
if you buy the dsm bov flange from RRE the flange is stepped to take 1.5'' pipe that is included. makes things alot easier.

Re: installing dsm bov
I took 1" mild steel tubing and cut off about an inch of it or so. I took a hole saw to my chargepiping, and welded the flange to the steel tubing. After that was done I welded it to the IC piping. After some rockstar quality flux core welds and some black spray paint it looked almost OEM.

Re: installing dsm bov
here's the best pic I have to show you how I did mine. I took a better pic just now for you but the cable going from the camera to the computer just fried for some reason. I did what the previous guy did. Hole was cut with a hole saw. The flange was boughten from RRE and they included that piece of straight piping. Welded the flange and small pipe together, then welded the small pipe to the intercooler pipe. Not too difficult

Re: installing dsm bov
Just call around to local muffler/mechanic shops. Ask them if they have any scrap 1 1/2" piping. They'll probably just give you some piece from their scrap pile for free. That's how I got the piping for my upper intercooler pipe.

Re: installing dsm bov
You can have your local muffler shop just weld that flange directly onto the pipe. That's what I did.
