Installing Boost Gauge
 

I bought an AC Autotechnic S7 Boost Gauge and the gauge didn't even come with every fitting it needs and a crappy nylon line that was bent. What can i do to get it to work right. I was thinking of putting it into the pillar and connecting a rubber or soft plastic 1/4" line to the back of the gauge directly and run the same line to the vac source or the manifold. Pretty much a straight line from gauge to source. I saw a write up on Scooby mods for a gauge with a 3/4" outlet and runs into a reducer to a 1/4". Could i do this and still get accurate readings?

Just go to Boostcontroller.com and order the 9 dollar kit with 12ft of nylon 1/4 tubing with the fittings. Thats what i did but i didnt realize my autometers came with enough Oh well...

are you guys installing your guages in your backseats??

that should be plenty of line. unless it's bent in the middle, then it's no good.

Yeah, that's the problem it was bent in the middle. The gauge didn't even come with every fitting. Would it still work without fitting and use a direct line and clamps?

i get my ---- at the auto parts store for 5 bucks (oil line install kit). if its kinked, a good trick is to squeeze it with pliers opposite of the way its kinked and put a big zip tie around it to keep it from getting kinked again

good idea about that zip tie and homemade kit. I'm going to really look into that.
