Injector sizing

So I am about to boost my first setup this weekend, stock d16z6

I have a friend with a set of 310cc injectors laying around and I was wondering if they would be enough?

I am tuning with crome and I am going to be running 8-10psi..
I was looking at my base map in crome and it seems 310cc injectors duty cycle would reach around 86% at 8psi and 92% at 10 psi..

so my question is do you guys think this is going to be safe? or should I spend the extra $ and wait another couple weeks to boost and get 440's ?

Re: Injector sizing

you could probably run like 3-5 psi on those, but I would not try to run 8-10 especially with stock fuel pressure, get some DSM's and call it a day

Re: Injector sizing

Everywhere I seem to ask this question thats the only response im getting is to run dsm 450's.. I dont want to use old injectors and I dont want to cut my harness thats why im trying to figure out if coming close to using 100% of your duty cycle is bad news..

no worries...everyone uses "old" 450's, check around for threads complaining about dsm 450's failure....you wont find any. if that isnt enough for you ----http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/category/fuelinjectors/

and cutting your harness for the sake of tuning is justifiably.
I think 80% duty cycle is about max....

If you dont want to hack into your injector harness buy a set of RC440s.

What if he bumped up his fuel pressure with the 310s?

Dude, DSM injectors are reliable. I've run several different sets for several long periods of time, and theyre freaking $50!, you cannot beat that my friend.

true that.. get some 450's and walbro and all your fuel problems for the time being will be solved. cut that harness up, you should see mine. try putting a dsm motor in a honda. complete havoc/mayhem.

here is some info with an injector calculator so that you can determine for yourself what it needed:

Re: Injector sizing

Dont use the 310's.. just get a set of dsm 450's and your set. They are only 50 a set and I have never heard of a set failing.
