Default INI 7.3 diesel turbo... ID and size discussion.

I just picked up a turbo that is suppose to be very similar to this turbo (got a deal on it, a good one).

I cant find crap for info on it, and it hasnt been delivered yet. Any thoughts as to what the size of the compressor would be? I have a feeling that the exhaust housing is going to be close, because it looks a bit smaller than the one in the picture, its suppose to be a .84 T4 exhaust from what I understand.

I have seen some pieces of info that say its a 80MM inducer.. which is a bit scary as I am only going for a 600-700whp build with this. I also found a picture of just the compressor wheel, and it looked like it had a 80mm inducer, with like a 85mm exducer, wtf?

Looked at some old notes looks like it is a t04b/t3 with a 54mm compressor.

It's a 58.4mm compressor inducer also called the TO4B-H. Where did you get 80mm inducer from? That's larger than a GT4202 you tard. The exducer isn't even 80mm, so you are smoking crack. You're looking for 600-700 on an H-trim? GL with that rofl. You'll be lucky to get 450whp. They're rated at 49lbs/min not the ~70 you'll need rofl. They come with an .82 a/r turbine housing that's T3 flanged and has an oddball 5 bolt outlet.

I got one of these on my 280zx. Runs 11.2@124 and dyno'd at 424 on a mustang dyno.

Yep. Not a 600whp turbo. As previous stated; probably max out around 450.

Well, it will be a good starter turbo then. Any of the info I had was from just poking around at diesel sites, I never figured that they were accurate.

Its a brand new project using a bunch of custom crap anyway (aka untested stuff thats going to get changed out eventually), so if we have to upgrade the turbo later it wont be a huge deal. I just hope its a T4 flange on the one we are getting. There seem to be a ton of banks compressor wheels out there that can upgrade me a bit on the compressor side if I need, and hey its a garrett, shouldnt be that hard to find a T67 cold side that would work on it.

It's T3 flanged. To upgrade to a T67 you'd need the whole compressor side including the backplate, and then you'd still have a fucked up turbine to compressor ratio as the turbine wheel in the TO4B-H is T31 sized and that's awfully small for a T67 compressor. It would be like a T3/T67 rofl. You seen one of those before? That's because there's no point.

Ok, well maybe I can upgrade to a 62-1 ish cold side....

I dont really want to mess with anything T3 for this, but o well if I do.... I can make manifolds in my sleep.
