info on map sensor
Hi guys,
i still have problem with my map sensor, but i think i know why. I'm boosting 8 psi on a D16A6, with 450cc and SMC+. But i'm at -20% of correction at 8 psi and this is my problem. Zip( the guy who sold me the SMC) told my to check the signal of the map sensor at position ON II with motor off and i should have 2.8 to 3 volt. I have 3.3 so i change it but i have the same signal with the new one.
So i need to know what is the real signal??
Thanks

anything over 3.1v's the Map sensor CEL code will trigger.

But what about the signal with the engine off
Zip tell me that supose to be 2.8 to 3.0 volt. but i have 3.3 volt.
this is normal??
Thanks

Re:info on map sensor
ok thanks a lot jeff.
Just another little question.
I bought a Fuel pressure regulator yesterday. If i increase the fuel pressure, so i will decrease the fuel from the SMC so it soppose to decrease the signal of the MAP sensor...
What are thinking about this
Thanks a lot

Re:info on map sensor
i dont know how it works either but basically you can control the fuel pressure with it. however when u go into a closed loop thats when you read your map sensor on the ecu.
open loop you can control.
i think
correct me if im wrong

Re:info on map sensor
ok, but it's not normal that i'm at -20% or correction on 450cc with 8psi of boost. it supose to be around -32 to -38%. So i think it's for this... I'm too low in correction so the signal of the map sensor is not modified enought to don't have a cel 3.
It is me that i'm affraid of run lean because on my air/fuel, i'm in the 3 first green light of rich at -20%.
