I'm running a 99' si, b16a, .63 trim 300zx t3, 10 psi by 5800 rpm?

Is it normal to take so long to develope 10 psi at 5800 rpm in a 99'civic si b16a w/.63 trim nissan 300zx t3? works great and all but I wish I was boosting 10psi at 4-4500rpm instead. :'(

did you lengthen the wg actuator or something?

on what rpm do you think I should be getting 10psi full boost?

do you reach 10psi on 1st gear by 4800 rpm?

also my Auto Meter boost gauge sounds like it's leaking a little bit of air as boost increases, the tuner told me this is normal cause the gauge purges excess air into the atmosphere and factory gauges purge it back into the intake system. Is this true?

Your boost gauge should not be leaking at all, get some zip ties around where all the vaccumm lines connect.

I think i have the same trim turbo as yours. Mine came out of a Nissan too. Well I would think it would be normal to hit 10 psi at that rpm with your motor. Mine is on a h22 and I hit 6 psi at 3200 rpm and pull all the way till redline. How does it pull once it hits full boost? I'm sure it wont matter since its only first gear when your racing. And once your into the next gear your be above 4800 rpm.

Re:I'm running a 99' si, b16a, .63 trim 300zx t3, 10 psi by 5800 rpm?

I have the boost gauge connected with the metal fittings it came with and where it connects to the vacume on the motor the see thru plastic hose the boost gauge came with is connected with a small vacume hose that fits real snug on the plastic boost gauge hose and I have it zip tied. It's a mechanical gauge by the way. I drove the car with the gauge out and I couldn't feel any air leaking out. I aint gonna sweat that no more though.
The turbo xs mbc came in and it's installed and works good.
Steady 10psi.

By the way, it pulls hard. I took it on the expressway today and 120mph was before my eyes in no time in 5th @11psi. I was in 5th from about 85-90mph and it didn't take long at all to reach 120, I could've kept going but I'm not trying to set any speed records ;D plus I feel uneasy above 100mph. I took it to 135mph once when the car was completely stock, ride height and all. Never again, maybe ;D

I live in Miami Lakes, Florida. I test my car on the highway, it's called the expressway also, here anyways.

Swap that .63 housing out for a .48 and your problem will be solved. A .63 housing is rather large (though many still use it...) for a 1.6L.

The .48 will spool on your B around 3300-3500 and still have a good powerband all the way to redline. It spools @ 3550 or so on my d16z.

Re:I'm running a 99' si, b16a, .63 trim 300zx t3, 10 psi by 5800 rpm?

if it's the .63 trim exhaust housing then I'm happy. I just don't know much about what rpm full boost is normal and wanted an idea at where my car stood. Only in 1st gear is when it take 5800rpm to achieve full boost. 2nd full boost 5400rpm and 3rd full boost by 4700rpm. It's aight :'(
