This is incredible.

DPFI 5th Gen RHD civic. SSAC turbo kit. No Fuel Management.

I don't think that you are losing all your pressure from the couplers or piping. There isn't much to the piping, and the couplers are at least on, so you would be seeing something even if only a little.

Here are some things you can address:
  • Get that oil return fixed up
  • Like jeff said, where is that blue valve cover line going?
  • Where is that BOV vac line going?
  • Sketchy plastic intake box
  • No intercooler
  • wastegate needs adjustment or at least tightening
  • clock that turbo to help the oil situation
  • check what ECU you have
  • Get some kind of management, based on finding of ECU

There are probably a lot more things I could think of.

The DPFI airbox is not exactly the greatest sealed unit, so besure to check there, check your wastegate actuator arm.

Your best bet would bet getting a D16z6 intake manifold, injectors, distributor, and I'd assume ECU as well? Your not going to see to many write ups for DPFI-MPFI on your car, but the 88-91 wiring should be very similar.

Oh, and I'm also looking at your breather hose, please tell me its not plumbed into the charge pipe or any vac right? I hope its just venting to atmopshere...

BTw, that oil return is way hot ;)

Jeff

i saw the mini res but it looked like it was going to the brake master cylinder. I've not seen many eg/ek hydrolic clutch setups up close so i figured it was some wierd ----. i guess if it is a mnaual the master cylinder is hiding

does this car have an automatic tranny ? plz say no
It's Manual

i don't have a boost gauge but all i can tell you is my car was alot quicker without the turbo :-[

Not much else to add about your setup because it has already been mentioned. Just wanted to say that this thread is the BEST example I have ever seen of what not to do on your first setup or someone who "completed" a setup by maybe reading only one or two threads on this site. Jesus man, even a little bit of research every day for only a week and you would know better.

Unless you found this site after you finished your setup. But still it was pretty ignorant of you to that. Start reading all of our faqs until you unstand what the hell you did that's wrong.

Believe me I've got some testosterone to spare if you need it. You have to agree that a large majority of these guys would rather flame even though they're thinking "I hope someone gives the answer". People often write crap when they have nothing to offer. It's a whole lot easier to pick on someone when you don't know the answer yourself than to admit that you're a dumbass and would be asking the same questions except you're to embarassed because you know you'll get flamed.

It's a vicious circle and some of these guys will be here years without ever learning or offering anything themselves.

Thanks, I am , except when I'm an ------- ;)

You still haven't mentioned what turbo you bought but I can almost gaurantee that it's too big for you at this point. Try the things I mentioned first as they're the likeliest, wastgate actuator is opening and effecting spool. Regardless of what is causing it, you need some type of engine management unless that car is a throw away "fun" type of project. If that car is your sole means of transporation, no boost is actually a godsend for you at this point. Systematically go through all of your hoses and clamps and make sure all of them are secure, then go to your wastegate and make sure it is closed and can't easily open when you pull the actuator rod. Then check your vacuum/boost signal from the manifold itself to see if your gauge is simply leaking and throwing the signal off. While you're doing all of that, post back what turbo you bought and I bet that it's probably bigger than you should have bought.

Lots of people want boost but buy too much turbo for their needs because they see other people doing it therfor think that they can get away with buying a compressor the size of a basketball and a turbine the diameter of a can of soda. It doesn't always work that way, especially with a small displacement motor.

Re: I'm not getting any boost (pic's)

Well, because it's a ssac setup, i would guess that the turbo is either a t-25 or a t-3. Def. not a t3/t4 just by looking at the compressor housing. Also do you know what your wastegate is supposed to release at? If the wastegate is loose, maybe someone had it setup like that to try and avoid "overboosting" the motor, but instead won't let it spool up either. Like everyone else said too, check the box on top of the throttle body...it's a possibility that it's either not tightened down all the way, or the gaskets are missing completely. It might be me, but it also looks like the oil line heads up before it drains down...fix that. Turbo's are usually use gravity to drain them, and you'll soon see oil leaks all over if you don't. And for god's sake...get some management...and yes, you can use an fmu on a dpfi. At the very minimum use the fmu and a couple of check valves inline on the map sensor.
