im lost on plug gapping

im kinda lost when it comes to gapping and heat ranges, my local parts store does not carry a recommended ngk zfr7f-11, so i got the zfr6f-11, which the guy says is one step colder, anyone know if this is true? also im running a t25 at around 5 psi for now on a d16z6, anyone have any idea what my gap should be? or should i just let them ride and check them in a few hundred miles and go from there?

thanks for any help

Re:im lost on plug gapping

you dont need two steps colder with that setup...gap the plugs at like .035

your local store wouldnt happen to be napa .. would it? their the ONLY person in my region besided Honda that carry NGK, and they only go down to 6.

im only running 5psi on my t3 right now and kept blowing the spark out # .035, so if you experience the same problem as i did... step down to .030.

.030 solved all my top end misfires as well.

gapped .28 on a d16y7 with a ct26 turbo. cause there was a lot of misfire on top. but we didnt have any fuel management. but the .28 fixed it then it started fluttering on top. but we were stupid haha just wanted to get that bitch running. ran strong though good luck man

If you want the 2-step plugs (7 instead of 6) go to a place that carries ngk and ask for ngk stock# 2387. Any place that sells their plugs should be able to at least order those if they don't keep them in stock. Try a couple of places if you need to. :)

Re:im lost on plug gapping

6 is the regular heat range for honda's isnt it? my stockies were 6 heat range and i just got one step colder from bcpr6es-11 to bcpr7es-11. actually i couldnt find em either than i went to the ngk website and did some research. nobody could give me one step colder plugs so i found out that the 91 Saab 9000 (turbo) uses the exact same plug as my stocks but one step colder, so when i went to pep boys i asked for spark plugs for a 91 Saab 9000 and they are exaclty the same as my stocks but one step colder. search the ngk website and you will find the ones you need somewhere.

Re:im lost on plug gapping

most civics and other hondas usually use a "6" heat range. thats what mine were stock.
