Default IHI on a d series... worth it?

Since I was scammed by SSL2K I don't have much money and am looking into doing an IHI setup on a dseries. It is a d16y7 with 140k but runs strong as hell. I know the clutch is slipping but I would eventually have to get a new clutch and would put an ex tranny in there at that point or just wait till I blow this thing up. I was curious if this would really even be worth it. I would prob run it at like 6psi unless you guys think I can get away with 9psi or so.

hell ya, and hell ya you can run more then 6 psi, i say go for 9-10 if you want more power but then you must have it intercooled.

I have a newly rebuilt IHI VJ5 (same as a VJ11 except longer coolant lines) and an MX6 intercooler for sale. I'll be honest with you, I rebuilt the turbo myself (been rebuilding them for years) and the rebuild itself is top notch. The turbine and compressor wheel were spun by TurboCity and the actual assembly was done by me. These turbo are exceptional for a small displacement motor like yours, especially being single cam. They spool at roughly 2,800 rpm and taper off at around 5,500 rpm. I myself have ran as much as 18 psi on my vj11/vj17 hybrid.

I can give you pictures if you'd like, I am going to post the combo for sale on eBay within the next couple days. I'd like $250 for the turbo and $50 for the intercooler (which has been cleaned and painted and looks brand new)

i just through an ihi on my daily driver (94 coupe) pulls pretty damn hard on teh d15, anyway the first ihi i put on there was blown, so i got a rebuilt one if u want the one with the blown seals to rebuild lemme know give it to u for like 15 bucks, but anyway in my opinion its worth it
