idle problem
 

i finished installing my kit the other day, but i have been trying to work out some problems. when i start the car, it idles perfect, but as soon as i rev it, it idles like crap, and sometimes dies. i think some of my vacuum lines could be messed up, because i installed a new intake manifold on the car. could it also be spark plug gap? here is my mods list.

d16y7 with y8 intake manifold
hf manifold and custom adapter plate
t3 48 ex. 54 comp. (internal wastegate)
greddy fmic
bosch bypass valve
dsm 390's with resister box for peak and hold injectors
obd1 conversion harness
p06 with uberdata basemap

i think i fucked up the vacuum lines when i installed the manifold. i think that is the main problem. any other ideas? if it will help i will video tape it and upload the video. thanks in advance.

how did you mess up the vacuum lines? is that y8 manifold from a 2000+ civic? those have those small air holes above the ports.

its off a d16y8, which was in 96-00 civic ex's. the reason that they are messed up is because i let my friend take the old manifold off, and he didnt remember how to put everything back together, so i just hooked all of the vacuum lines up.

is there a sensor in the "black box" that the pcv valve goes into?

anyone? i really need to get this car going but i dont know where to start. could it be the tune, or the injectors?

you should have done the manifold swap by itself before the turbo. would have saved you alot of headache from troubleshooting

im running a boosted y7/y8 mini-me so i should be able to help you here O0

first off what year was the y8 IM from and what year is your y7 head from

what iacv are you running

answer those and we'll move on to the next steps in the process(all the vac and coolant lines)

well, its the original motor (1998), and im not sure what year the manifold is. i put the y7 throttle body on because i know all of the sensors are good. i have the coolant lines hooked up, it doesnt matter which one goes on which nipple does it? on the vacuum lines, have i my fpr hooked up to the small nipple, brake booster on the back one, pcv, and the vacuum canister. i think everything is right now, but i havent tried to start it yet.

i had to drain my oil to fix an oil leak on the return line... ::) and now i dont have enough oil to fill it back up >:(
im waiting on a friend to come back over here so he can run me up to the parts store for oil.

is it possible that the o2 sensor is on the wrong plug? it is throwing a code which is what im thinking it is. unhooking ac wont throw a code will it?

trying trial and error switching the vac lines around because I had the same problem with my car and got a check engine light and then shuts off. I had the map sensor vac line I quess not in a strong enough vac source so once I switched it car runs fine now.

right on, ill try that.

im also going to try and unhook my charge pipe and plug in the stock ecu to rule out vacuum. would that be a problem with the 390's?

yo its your iacv. obd1 looks for a two wire and your y7 iacv is a 3 wire.

search how to convert to the y8 two wire iacv. i know its covered on this forum and also on www.jdmuniverse.com. lilowek made a writup on jdmu that i used so i know its there
